Equipment Introduction

QUALITY MANAGEMENT

Osaka Alloying Works Manufacturing Equipment and Quality Control

Master alloy as an additive for alloying is one of our main products at Osaka Alloying Works. We have a large number of furnaces to handle all sorts and volumes of alloying work, and also engage in environmental burden reduction efforts through anti-pollution systems that process our waste water, smoke, and other emissions from manufacturing.

We control quality by clearly showing the chemical composition of our products, using a wide range of equipment and devices to ensure product quality via rapid, reproducible, and high-performance evaluation.

Field Emission Electron Probe Microanalyzer(FE-EPMA)

Inspection Equipment

Field Emission Electron Probe Microanalyzer(FE-EPMA)

This system analyzes compositions and elements via detection of distinct X-rays, and also observes surfaces on a microscopic level by exposing solid samples to a fine electron beam to measure secondary and backscattered electrons from the test piece. Our FE-EPMA is equipped with a field emission electron gun for microscopic analysis beyond the capacity of a regular EPMA.
The Company uses this system for quality control (identifying compositions and medium substances), and for contracted composition analysis requests from users, research bodies, and universities.

Solid-state luminescence spectrophotometer(OES)

Inspection Equipment

Solid-state luminescence spectrophotometer(OES)

The target element within a solid sample is excited to vaporization via plasma emissions, and the system analyzes quantities of the element from the luminescence of optical spectra specific to the elements (molecular spectra) obtained from this. The system requires advance planning of the sample and elements for analysis, but provides results extremely quickly.
The Company uses this system to analyze impurities in copper raw materials (20 elements) and some master alloys, as well as in-furnace analysis for copper casting and phosphor copper master alloys (8% P-Cu).

High-frequency plasma emission spectrophotometer(ICP-AES)

Inspection Equipment

High-frequency plasma emission spectrophotometer(ICP-AES)

This system performs quantitative and qualitative analysis of liquid solution samples, finding elements from the wavelengths of spectra obtained via emissions of light from excited molecules of the element returning to their base state after exposure to high-temperature Ar plasma mist. The system is highly flexible, and can analyze rarified gas elements that do not liquify, hydrogen with its resistance to liquification, carbon, oxygen, nitrogen, and others including from lithium to uranium on the periodic table.
The Company has two of these machines that are used for inorganic acid solutions and hydrofluoric acid solutions, respectively, performing quantitative elemental and impurities analysis primarily for our products.

Frequency scattering X-ray fluorescence analyzer(XRF)

Inspection Equipment

Frequency scattering X-ray fluorescence analyzer(XRF)

This system determines the element and performs quantitative analysis on the concentration of elements in samples by exposing them to X-rays and measuring the X-ray fluorescence that ensues.
As the Company’s master alloys have a high concentration of primary elements (30-50% by mass), this system is used for quantitative analysis of products that do not work with spectrophotometry.
